Every appointment starts with a conversation about what brings you in, relevant health information, activity, preferences and goals. Where appropriate, Tony may assess movement or the area before agreeing a treatment approach with you.

  • Desk, work or activity-related physical load
  • People who want treatment explained and adapted

Your appointment may include

  • Discussion of symptoms, activity and relevant history
  • Movement, range-of-motion or tissue assessment where appropriate
  • A tailored selection of hands-on techniques
  • Reassessment and proportionate self-management guidance

What does soft-tissue therapy mean?

Soft-tissue therapy is an umbrella term for assessment-informed hands-on approaches involving muscles and related soft tissues. Tony may draw from sports and remedial massage, neuromuscular and trigger-point techniques, soft-tissue release, muscle energy techniques, assisted stretching and movement.

The terminology matters less than choosing a sensible approach for the person in front of him. No single technique is assumed to correct posture, permanently realign the body or provide a universal solution.

The WholePerson context.

Symptoms can be influenced by more than one factor. Training load, work demands, recovery, sleep, stress and movement habits may be relevant, but they are not automatically treated as the cause. The first appointment creates time to understand that context and decide what is appropriate.

Where helpful and within scope, a session may also include simple movement or breathing strategies. Acupuncture and cupping are optional, used only when suitable and specifically consented to.

Sessions take place at Light Centre Monument, 36 St Mary at Hill, London EC3R 8DU. Monument is the nearest Tube station; Bank, Cannon Street and London Bridge are also nearby. All appointments are arranged in advance.

Before you arrange a session.

How is soft-tissue therapy different from massage?

It places particular emphasis on relevant history, assessment, treatment choices and reassessment rather than following the same routine for every client.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no standard number. Frequency depends on your presentation, goals, response and progress; unnecessary treatment dependence is not the aim.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing is useful for discussion and movement assessment. Tony explains clothing and draping options before hands-on treatment.

When should I see a doctor instead?

Seek appropriate medical help for severe, unexplained or worsening symptoms, significant recent trauma, new neurological symptoms or systemic illness.

Ask Tony whether this approach fits what you need.
